We offer playful competitions are exhilarating fun, combining the joy of exercise with the delight of succeeding at fun tasks.
How about "Seven Brothers Contest" inspired by Aleksis Kivi’s novel The Seven Brothers or "Gustavelund Olympics"? The festive opening ceremony involves lighting the Olympic torch and swearing the oath, and everyone is guaranteed a place on their team! The events include biathlon, team shot put, park golf etc. Citius, altius, fortius!
With a range of playful tasks, you get exercise and the joy of success. The games are held in the wonderful lakeside surroundings or in Gustavelund’s parkland. There are different tasks for different seasons. Even if the winning team scoops the only prize, everybody is rewarded with a feel-good experience. The games are rounded off with delicious food and drinks to match the event. Afterwards why not wind down and relax in the sauna.
Cultural excursions and experiences
Unforgettable cultural experiences await you right on Gustavelund's doorstep on the Tuusula Lake Road, where famous names such as Jean Sibelius, Aleksis Kivi, Pekka Halonen, Eino Leino and many others lived and worked.
One of our favorites is Halosenniemi experience. Explore a real artist’s home, Pekka Halonen’s Halosenniemi. On the trip you can experience genuine, unpretentious Finnish values amidst unspoilt nature. Together we explore the striking log house and art exhibition.
The trip can be made either by traditional long rowing boat both ways or by boat one way and hiking the other. The hiking section can be a guided cultural walk or Nordic walking.
Winter activities
Nordic skating on natural ice
Experience the winter in a unique way -only 15 minutes from Helsinki-Vantaa airport.
Skating on natural ice -Nordic skating is excellent way to experience the Finnish nature and landscape. Well maintained route starts from Hotel Gustavelund and it's the longest track in the Helsinki region.
Nordic skating is ideal activity for groups. We offer skates, skies, snowshoes and kick sledges for hire and guided tours to get to most out of the experience. After skating it's nice to gather around campfire for snack and a cup of something warm. To get the real Finnish experience we recommend to reserve one of our saunas.
Games at camp fire
The campsite contest is centred around the lakeside landscape and a real campfire. The contest can be held in both winter and summer.
The tasks include biathlon on tandem skis, broomball, problem solving and frisbee-golf. The tasks vary according to the season. As a member of their team, everyone experiences the thrill of success.
